Hurricane Force Birthday card
Hurricane Mk1 P2921 of 32 Squadron flown by Flt. Lt. Pete Brothers together with fellow pilots engage JU88s over Southern England in a head-on attack at the height of the Battle of Britain.
The Hawker Hurricane is a British single-seat fighter aircraft of the 1930s–1940s, designed and predominantly built by Hawker Aircraft for service with the Royal Air Force.
Although overshadowed in the public consciousness by the Supermarine Spitfire’s role during the battle, the Hurricane actually inflicted 60 percent of the losses sustained by the Luftwaffe in the engagement. The Hurricane went on to fight in all the major theatres of the Second World War and in doing so, gained a reputation for reliability, robustness, and it provided an excellent gun platform.
